LipoSelection® only by VASER® combines
new patented technology with advanced surgical techniques to break
up and remove fatty tissue. Unwanted fat can be efficiently removed
from abs, arms, back, hips, knees, love handles, neck and chin,
saddlebags, thighs - any place you've developed a little "extra
cushioning."
The VASER System uses ultrasound energy to break
up and emulsify fat, leaving surrounding tissue - such as nerves,
blood vessels and connective tissue - relatively intact. Only the
LipoSelection procedure can offer you an experience that is UltraSelective,
UltraSmooth, UltraSound!
The LipoSelection procedure uses the VASER System's
patented innovative ultrasound technology for fatty tissue emulsion
and proprietary cannulae designed to minimize tissue trauma during
aspiration. Because nerves and blood vessels are largely undisturbed,
patients and physicians report low to minimal pain and bruising.
Moreover, the LipoSelection procedure allows physicians to work
with such precision that they can shape delicate areas like the
inner thighs, arms, chin and neck.
If you are among the potential millions of individuals
seeking a low-pain path to a slimmer, more youthful body, LipoSelection
only by VASER could be the solution for you.
BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE
Consultation. An essential first step is your consultation,
which will take place at your doctor's office. Although there are
limits to the amount of fat that can be removed, your doctor can
assist you with your decision about potential areas for sculpting,
the results you can expect, and the recovery process. Prepare questions
in advance and be sure your doctor has the opportunity to address
all of your concerns. Bring a list of all your current medications
and supplements to your appointment. Feel free to bring along your
spouse or a good friend or family member for support. During your
consultation, you should get a good feel for the practice, staff
and philosophy of patient care, to confirm a good match for your
personal needs - do not underestimate the importance of this "fit."
Informed Consent. Dr. Tittle will discuss potential
complications and review the surgery consent form with you. Because
the VASER Sytem's state-of-the-art ultrasound technology is more
tissue selective than traditional liposuction, reported complications
are low and pain, bruising, and swelling are low to minimal. The
LipoSelection procedure's predictability is evidenced by the low
number of reported required re-treatments.
Confirmation of Candidacy. Once Dr. Tittle reviews
your medical history and compares your body reshaping potential
to your expectations, he will evaluate whether you are a good candidate
for the procedure. Considerations that assist in making this determination
include:
- Skin elasticity
- Morbid obesity
- Unrealistic expectations
- Pregnancy
- Medical history / current medications
Measurements and "Before" Photographs.
Pre-operative measurements and photographs will be used for comparison
post-operatively.
Day-of-Procedure Instructions. Dr. Tittle will
provide specific instructions to prepare you for your procedure.
DURING YOUR PROCEDURE
Sedation. Anesthesia may be general, local, or
local with IV sedation - Dr. Tittle will discuss his preference
with you.
Infusion. The doctor creates a tiny incision in
the area to be treated. The targeted area is then filled with a
special saline solution to make it very wet and full, making the
fatty tissue easier to emulsify with the VASER System's ultrasound
energy. This solution includes epinephrine, which shrinks blood
vessels to help reduce bleeding and bruising, and lidocaine, an
anesthetic agent that helps numb the site.
Treatment. The doctor then inserts a thin grooved
probe that is unique to the VASER System. The probe disperses ultrasound
waves around the grooved tip to break down and emulsify fatty tissue
on contact.
Aspiration. Suction and massage of the sculpted
site remove emulsified tissue while leaving blood vessels, nerves
and connective tissue relatively intact.
AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE
Recovery. Once the numbing effects of the anesthetic
agent wear off, you may experience some discomfort. You and the
doctor will discuss whether over-the-counter and/or prescription
pain medication is right for you. Initially, expect some fluid drainage
from your incisions.
Compression Garment. You will wear a compression
garment home from the procedure; most doctors will require you to
wear such a garment under your clothing for a period ranging from
2-6 weeks post-operatively, depending upon the body area(s) treated
and the amount of fat removed. This will provide you with comfort
and support, and will help your skin settle to your new contours.
It is critical that you follow your doctor's instructions regarding
the wearing of this garment.
Follow-up Appointments. While you may feel and
look terrific, it is essential that you keep your follow-up appointments
so that your doctor can monitor your progress.
